KING KONG IN THE LIBRARY. FROM THE SITGES FESTIVAL TO THE 42
Opening times:
Wednesday 8, from 4 pm.
From 8 to 12 November, from 10 am to 10 pm.
Film and literature have always had a close relationship which goes beyond adaptations of novels and the novelisation of films: they are narrative art forms that share resources but which, at the same time, have marked differences. The history of the Sitges Festival is also the history of the interdisciplinary dialogue around the fantastic. What is Frankenstein's monster like? What part does our imagination play when we change formats? What is a good adaptation? What is a monster?
In this exhibition, we’ll see how fantastic film has come to the library in many more ways than you can imagine. King Kong goes to the library and is received by Frankenstein’s monster.
The curators of the exhibition are: Sergi Viciana and Mònica Garcia Massagué
*Activity organised in collaboration with the Sitges-Festival de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya
