Javier Calvo
Javier Calvo (Barcelona, 1973), with a degree in Journalism, is a translator and writer. He found recognition on winning the 2012 Biblioteca Breve Prize for El jardín colgante (Seix Barral, 2012), the continuation of Corona de flores (Mondadori, 2010). Calvo has also written other novels, including Mundo maravilloso (Mondadori, 2007, a finalist in the 7th Fundació José Manuel Lara Novel Award) and El dios reflectante (Mondadori, 2003), as well as books of short stories such as Suomenlinna (Alpha Decay, 2010), Los ríos perdidos de Londres (Mondadori, 2005) and, under the pseudonym Héctor Rivadeneyra, La mesura de l’home (Males Herbes, 2022), the latter showing his love for space operas and new-wave science fiction.
