The Ursula K. Le Guin Club (Club UKL) returns to La Insòlita and once again is using dialogue to discuss the novel The Dispossessed (Los desposeídos, Minotauro; Els desposseïts, Raig Verd) together with Vicky Hidalgo, director and editor of the Minotauro publishing house, and Loredana Volpe, writer and director of the theatre company Cía. La Salamandra. In this club, dialogue is viewed as the ideal way to get to know the work of a writer like Ursula K. Le Guin, who liked to explore complex issues. In The Dispossessed, the author explores the limits of our encounters with the other in a veritable experiment of the imagination which had already begun in her other science fiction novels such as The Left Hand of Darkness (1969; La mà esquerra de la foscor) and the short story which continues the tale of Gueden, Coming of age in Karhide [Madurar a Karhide], and even in The Tombs of Atuan (1970; Les tombes d’Atuan), a fantasy novel from the Earthsea series in which two native inhabitants of completely different cultures and environments have to understand each other in order to move forward and ultimately survive in adverse conditions.
