David Rubín
David Rubín (Ourense, 1977) studied Graphic Design before launching a career in the world of comics and illustration. His first full-length work, El circo del desaliento, earned him a nomination as best new author at the 2006 Barcelona International Comic Fair. He has won numerous awards since then for La tetería del oso malayo and Cuaderno de tormentas, as well as for his comic adaptations of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer's El monte de las ánimas. He updated the myth of Heracles in a comic (El héroe) and began to focus on works produced in the United States. At the same time, he partnered with Miguelanxo Prado in the work Miguel EN Cervantes and in addition to the graphic novel Fuego, he recently published Cosmic Detective, noir, a science-fiction book, in conjunction with the US authors Jeff Lemire and Matt Kindt, which asks the question, who investigates a murder when the victim… is a god?
