Ann Leckie

Ann Leckie (Toledo, Ohio, 1966) is a genre writer who became a science fiction fan at an early age. In 2013, she caused a stir with the publication of Ancillary Justice (Nova), a space opera that won the genre's three biggest awards, the Hugo, the Nebula and the Arthur C. Clarke, bringing greater attention to science fiction from a feminine perspective. Before becoming a writer, Leckie worked as a waitress and as a receptionist while starting to publish stories on English-language science-fiction websites. She was secretary of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America Union and lives in Saint Louis with her husband, her children and several cats
