Seminar - Session 6: Discussion and screening with Marco Aparicio and the No Name Kitchen

Can we love what and whom we haven’t chosen? We know that fascism starts with the fantasy of believing we can choose whom we want to live among. Faced with the arrival of migrants and refugees, which Europe frames as both a crisis and a business, can we reinstate succour and cooperation as forms of subversive and unconditional love?

No Name Kitchen. A non-profit association of volunteers from different countries who carry out their activities in the towns of Šid (Serbia) and Velika Kladuša (Bosnia), close to the EU’s Croatian border, it was set up in 2017 to support the refugees squatting in the old hangars of Belgrade’s  central station, providing food and resources and fostering solidarity among equals on the basis of integration, respect, non-discrimination and mutual support.

Marco Aparicio Wilhelmi. Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Girona, he also chairs the Observatori DESC platform for the defence of social, economic and cultural rights. He combines teaching and research with activism on the rights of migrants and refugees, the rights of indigenous peoples and the struggle against the impunity of transnational companies.
