Seminar

Seminar - Session 4: Talk and discussion with Begoña Román and Mireia Sallarès

9 March, 2019 - 12:00

What responsibilities are we willing to assume in order to love? Neoliberal societies assign amorous experience to the individual sphere, to intermittence and choice: we love alone, intermittently, those we have chosen. How is this love, understood as a fiction of the individual subject, dynamited from the ethics of caring and shared responsibilities?

Begoña Román. Professor of Philosophy at the University of Barcelona (UB), she has written and coordinated books on ethics in the social services, ethics in teaching and ecological ethics as tools for imagining what might be the challenges to thinking an amorous ethics.

Mireia Sallarès. A visual artist and author of the project of which this seminar is a part.

Venue: 3rd Floor, Art Centre (inside the exhibition).

This activity is part of the seminar Love for what? Changing love to change everything?, from the exhibition Kao malo vode na dlanu (Like a Little Water In the Palm of the Hand), A Project About Love in Serbia. Free seminar with limited number of places. For compulsory advance registration, either for the seminar or for individual sessions, please email centredart@bcn.cat.
