What is Escolab?
Escolab is a programme of Barcelona City Council's Barcelona Science and Universities with the participation of the research centres that offer and organise the activities.
From October to June, Escolab offers more than 100 different activity proposals, led by research staff from leading research groups in their field of study.
Each year, the first allocation of places for the activities is carried out by lottery in September. After the draw, places can still be requested in the activities that have become available or that are added during the school year.
The activities consist of talks, face-to-face workshops or visits that allow students to discover different areas of Catalonia where science is generated. In addition, the activities allow students to come into direct contact with the teams of people working and the lines of research they follow.
An opportunity to experience new discoveries and enrich classroom content by connecting the curriculum with current science.
Who organises the activities?
Escolab activities are organised by a wide range of research groups from universities, research centres, hospitals and companies.
