Jardins de Moragas

Tavern, 1

These gardens are a green neighbourhood space. Small, but with a complex layout and rich variety of vegetation, one of Barcelona's urban parks.

As you enter the park, you will see palm trees and some very tall pines that give way to a windy path, with sections of stone stairs that lead to the heart of the gardens. This path surrounds the park, with rest areas containing benches (some made from stone, legacies of the former owners) and large parterres, rich above all in palm trees.
A wide open space boasts one of Barcelona’s accessible and integrating children’s play areas. The park is designed to be used as a children’s play area but also a leisure and meeting point for older people.

History

The Moragas Gardens have belonged to Barcelona City Council since 14 February 1957. They were previously owned by the siblings, Joaquín and María de la Concepción de Moragas Ixart.

Art and Architecture

Art in these gardens is represented by a sculpture entitled 23 d’abril, Antoni Ramón González’s homage to books and reading.
