Disruptions to mobility during Pride

A new edition of Pride is being held around the city’s streets on Saturday, 20 July. The parade is in the afternoon, but traffic will be disrupted from early in the morning.

The main event is the parade, with 62 troupes and floats and 100,000 people expected to attend. The parade is being held from 6 pm to 9 pm on 20 July.

The route begins in Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, between C/ Comte d’Urgell and Pl. Universitat, and ends in Pg. Lluís Companys. The entire route will be closed to traffic from 5.30 pm, although this might be brought forward depending on the volume of people attending. The route from Pl. Tetuán into Pg. Sant Joan and as far as Pg. Lluís Companys will be on the side of the road nearest the Llobregat.

During the day there will also be different disruptions to allow for preparations for the parade.

Float assembly area

Av. Reina Maria Cristina will be closed to traffic from 7.30 am on 20 July.

Movement of floats

The empty floats will be moved to the start point at 4 pm.

Concentration area for floats

The road surface in Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, between C/ Comte d’Urgell and Pl. Universitat, will be closed to traffic from 3.30 pm. Intersecting streets will be kept clear.

Transfer to the dismantling area

Once all the participants get off the floats in the central section of Pg. Lluís Companys, the floats will be transferred to the dismantling point in Pg. Pujades (side nearest the sea) as far as C/ Wellington.
