A historic collector’s document about the fight for homosexual and trans people’s rights.
This is the story of the magazine La Pluma and
the Coordinator of Groups for Gay Liberation (CCAG, by its initials in
Catalan), an organisation that had a short (1978–80) but intense life and was
fundamental in the struggle for rights for homosexual people in the late
seventies in Barcelona.
It is a full, original printed publication of the facsimile
of the six issues of La Pluma (1978–80) that respects the format and
spot colours used at the time: a real collector’s item. It is accompanied by an
in-depth study that offers an insight into a time, a struggle and a magazine.
We are breathing new life into a publication half a
century after it came into existence. This record has been locked away in
archives for forty years, but now we want to make it accessible to everyone.
Some aspects of it might seem old-fashioned or passé, but they will help us to
discover where we come from, while other parts will make us realise we have
been discussing the same issues for decades now.
