José Luis Rey Vila (Cadiz, 1900 - Paris, 1983), popularly known as Sim, was an internationally renowned illustrator, poster artist, cartoonist and painter. When the Spanish Civil War broke out he was living in Barcelona, an experience which would inspire most of his work, and earn him the nickname, “painter of the revolution”, before he sought exile in Paris. In this book, the culmination of more than ten years’ of research, Joan Prados and Jaume Rodon offer a comprehensive guide of the artist’s life and work.
