The Royal Academy of Arts of Barcelona is among the most prestigious institutions of Catalan culture. Founded in the 18th century by a group of local intellectuals, its headquarters today are in the Gothic neighbourhood, in Palau Requesens, one of the architectural gems of the city, and which this year, 2017, celebrates its centenary year.
