The Associació de Colles Sardanistes Laietans was set up on 22^nd February, 2001, with the founding of La Colla dels Laietans. Three years later, in 2004, the youth group, the Joves Laietans, was added, and 2005 saw the creation of the Petits Laietans, for the smallest dancers. The organisation was completed with formation of the veteran colles: Sempre Laietans, in 2006, and Laietans per Sempre, in 2011.

All of these groups have travelled around much of Catalonia, exhibiting and participating in contests sponsored by the Unió de Colles Sardanistes. The organisation also organises a sardana school which offers classes for all ages. As well as the purely sardana-related activities, the association's members can take part in other organised team-building events like camps barbeques and parties.
