Festa major de Trinitat Vella

Dates de celebració

First fortnight in June in the Trinitat Vella neighbourhood, Sant Andreu district

Description

Traditionally, the Trinitat neighbourhood was at one end of the Sant Andreu village, and was also known as Coll de Finestrelles. Up until the second half of the 20th century it was an agricultural area with many vineyards. The growth of the city meant the sudden development of the neighbourhood and new expressways divided it into two: the old Trinitat Vella and the new Trinitat Nova.

The week-long festa major, the main festival, is held at the beginning of June. There is a wide range of activities on offer, including many popular culture events that were boosted by the creation of the neighbourhood groups. Examples include the cercavila gegantera, the procession of "little"festival giants from Trinitat Vella, and the correfoc, the fire run of the Diables Trinifoc devils' group.
