Description

La Guineueta is a neighbourhood in the heart of the Nou Barris district, between Canyelles, Verdum, Porta, Turó de la Peira and Torre Baró. There are two main blocks of housing on Passeig de Valldaura. Its landscaped areas stand out and it has two large green spaces: Parc de la Guineueta and Parc Central de Nou Barris.

The neighbourhood streets, squares and parks are decked out for the festa major in the second week of June and host a large number of events and celebrations. The local residents' association, the Associació de Veïns de la Guineueta, has taken charge of the festival and draws up a programme to appeal to everyone, with the help of local traders and other neighbourhood associations. This includes various musical performances, havanera singing, children's workshops and entertainment, communal meals, talks, theatre, and so on.
