Centre Artesà Tradicionàrius - CAT
El C.A.T. - Centre Artesà Tradicionàrius is the home to traditional music. This popular space in Gràcia is devoted to a wealth of examples of melodies, harmonies and rhythms from an age when there was no electronic equipment for listening to music.
During its nearly twenty of existence, the Centre Artesà Tradicionàrius has played a fundamental role in reviving the region’s traditional music. And it continues to do so. Every year numerous musicians, singers, dancers and spectator play their part and enjoy themselves.
The C.A.T. organises a programme of regular concerts, dances and improvisation sessions during which soloists and groups exchange ideas and practices. Furthermore, there are workshops for learning instruments (bisonoric accordion percussion, gralla, violin, flabiol [single handed flute], etc.) and dance. While it is primary focus is on traditional Catalan music, groups and soloists from other regions both with Spain and beyond (Occitania, France, Italy, Ireland, Greece etc.) are also welcome.
