Ball de Rams in Hostafrancs
The beginning of October, usually the first Saturday, sees is a performance of the Hostafrancs Ball de Rams, a bouquet dance, during the neighbourhood's festa major or big annual festival. It was revived in 1995 by the Esbart Ciutat Comtal dance group and it is open for everyone to join in with, be they members of the troupe or not.
It is always danced in pairs and has two stages. The first, the so-called passada de lluïment, is performed by the dancers who have been to rehearsals to prepare. A series of 19th century dances are followed by the second stage, which is open to everyone.
The dance takes its name from the bouquet carried by the participants. They also hold a fan, which each year has a different colour or design, but always displays a motif linked to the neighbourhood or festa major.
