Background
The UNESCO-UIA has named Barcelona the 2026 World Capital of Architecture. The World Capital is an event focused on disseminating the values and transformative capacity of architecture, urban design and landscaping. It is an opportunity to promote our historical and contemporary heritage and spread awareness of Catalan architecture around the world.
The 2026 World Capital of Architecture will hold a broad array of events in Barcelona’s ten districts over the course of ten months, between mid-February and mid-December, a period that spans from Santa Eulàlia to Santa Llúcia.
