On September 19, 2021, 50 years after the last eruption, a new volcano emerged on the island of La Palma. During the months that the eruption lasted, a group of childhood friends shared audio messages on a WhatsApp chat where they wrote a daily chronicle of astonishment and tragedy, far from the media narrative.
