The bicycle is an ideal solution for the more sustainable mobility that the city urgently needs. This is why the bike lanes in Barcelona are extended every year: to strengthen the cycling connection between the city’s districts and with municipalities in the metropolitan area. In 2022, 32.6 km of bike lane were built and 11.7 km of the existing layout were improved. The aim is to achieve a network of 272.6 km, improve its conditions and make it better connected.
