The project to redevelop c/Gran de Sant Andreu follows the traffic-calming model of the superblocks, with the aim of gaining public space for local residents and traders, improving accessibility, reducing the circulation of motor vehicles, pollution and noise levels, and promoting more sustainable mobility.

The project removes curbs from the street to create a roadway where pedestrians and bicycles have priority. The hundred or so trees already growing in this section will be joined by 20 more and some 500 m² of shrubs; the paving, services, telecommunications and drainage will also be updated. In addition, some 30 benches and 20 chairs are installed to create areas to linger and rest.

Remodelling also includes small sections of the adjacent streets and will mean a complete transformation of 1.3 km of public space given over to neighbourhood life.
