Sons de Ciutat welcomes the spring

The edition of Sons de Ciutat that welcomes the spring is being held from 1 February to 22 March, offering a chance to enjoy music every Saturday at noon. Thirty-four local artists will fill squares and streets with jazz, indie, classical, folk, pop, funk, soul, rumba, opera and electronic music.

Sons de Ciutat is a program of small-format concerts in the streets and squares of shopping hubs and markets in Barcelona and is divided into three concert seasons: the first in autumn, from October to November; a Christmas program, between December and January, coinciding with the holidays, and a spring program, between February and March.

Throughout the three seasons of Sons de Ciutat, almost a hundred artists bring live music to the ten districts of the city, with proposals for styles as diverse as jazz, funk, classical music, opera, rock, electronic or folk. The program includes various musical proposals but always respecting the spirit of Sons de Ciutat of making live music in the city's public spaces.

The program will feature around two hundred performances in more than seventy locations throughout the ten districts of the city. This is a project promoted by the Barcelona City Council with the aim of promoting economic and commercial revitalization through the rich musical culture of Barcelona.

Sons de Ciutat relies on the complicity of various festivals, professional. These are BAM, Terrats en cultura, Say it Loud, Primavera Labels, Jazz I am, L’hora del Jazz, ESMUC, Jam Session, Conservatori Superior del Liceu, Taller de Músics, Plataforma per la Defensa de la Rumba Catalana, Fundació Victoria de los Ángeles and Fundació Òpera a Catalunya.
