Tronco in concert
- Where
Tronco writes songs to balance the growing emptiness. The group started out as sibling duo Conxita and Fermí Herrero, who played together because their rooms were next to each other.
They love the parties that break out when their mother, aunts, uncles, cousins and grandmother get together to eat. They are fans of Martirio, Antonio Machín and what Fermí calls “quiet music in general”, that is, music that “is not heavy”. They love jokes, Gloria Fuertes, Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye, Elías e Ignacio, María el Problema, Cosmo K, David Shrigley, Alexis Nolla, Albert Pla, The Beatles, habaneras and the Cuban people. The only things they don't quite manage to get right are serious commitments and, as you can see, writing promotional texts, in very equal measures. They detest the oppressive state and fight against evil. Their favourite phrases are “what you have in your veins is not blood, but candy” and “a little kiss of my chocolate (yocolata)”.
This new project, with Conxita at the helm, retains the essence of the Herrero siblings.
