Sergi Pàmies and Carlota Gurt
In this Dialogue, moderated by David Guzmán, Sergi Pàmies and Carlota Gurt will be talking about their books of short stories A les dues seran les tres [At Two O’clock It Will Be Three] (Quaderns Crema, 2023) and Biografia del foc [Biography of Fire] (Edicions Proa, 2023). Two authors who are revitalising the short-story genre with tales that bring our most immediate reality into question.
Carlota Gurt is a translator and writer. She studied Translation and Interpretation, Humanities, Business Studies, Oriental Asia Studies and Audiovisual Communication. From 1998 to 2010, she worked in the field of performing arts, mainly for La Fura dels Baus and as Head of Production at the Temporada Alta Festival. In 2019, she won the Mercè Rodoreda with the short-story collection Cavalcarem tota la nit [Riding All Night]. In 2021 she published her first novel, Sola. She works with Catalunya Ràdio, Cadena SER, the Ara newspaper, the “Quadern” of the El País newspaper, Catorze and Núvol.

Translated into Spanish, French, German, Italian, Greek, English and Chinese, he is also the author of Confessions d’un culer defectuós [Confessions of a defective Barça fan], Vázquez Montalbán International Journalism Prize and he is a contributor to various media outlets.
