Gabriela Adameșteanu and Juan Gómez Bárcena
In this dialogue, which will be moderated by the writer Inés Macpherson, Gabriela Adameșteanu and Juan Gómez Bárcena will be talking about their latest books, Vidas provisionales (Acantilado, 2022) and Lo demás es aire (Seix Barral, 2022) respectively. Two works whose authors use the mechanics of fiction to explain a historical period, and to go to places not reached by official documents.
Gabriela Adameșteanu is one of the most important voices in modern Romanian literature. Her work, which includes novels and collections of short stories, has been translated into various languages and earned her the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres [Order of Arts and Letters] awarded by the French Ministry of Culture.
Juan Gómez Bárcena 's novels and collections of short stories have been awarded prizes including, among others, the Tormenta award for the best breakout author and the Ojo Crítico award. His novel The Sky Over Lima has been translated into several languages.
