Barcelona has opted for a local economic development strategy that contributes to the economic development of the city's neighbourhoods and districts and responds to the needs of people, companies, and the various economic stakeholders, while also ensuring inclusive and equitable development in the city and the territory.
In this context, this session aims to provide information about strategies and projects that make it possible to showcase and manage the city's economic promotion, by fostering the local economy, digitalisation, creation, employment and the impact of urban planning, among other things. To that end, the initiatives of various city stakeholders will be presented and compared with other relevant international experiences, placing emphasis on the challenges and opportunities they involve.
