From the emergence of eSports to the application of AI to broadcasts — not to mention the development of tools that have revolutionised physical-performance monitoring and sports events management — the intersection between innovation, technology and sport is becoming increasingly prolific and opening up a huge range of future opportunities.

Aspiring to becoming a global benchmark in this new paradigm, Barcelona intends to remodel the Palau Municipal d'Esports and turn it into a facility not just capable of playing host to innovative events that boost spectator experiences but also to consolidate itself as a laboratory for new solutions applied to the world of sport, while integrating its Barcelona Sports Hub headquarters.
