Director of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. His research focuses on HPC architectures. He has been honoured with several awards, among them: Eckert-Mauchly Award by the IEEE and ACM; Seymour Cray Award by IEEE; Charles Babbage Award by IEEE; Harry Goode Award by IEEE; the Spanish National awards “Julio Rey Pastor” and “Leonardo Torres Quevedo”. He has Honourary Doctorates from nine universities. He is a member of nine academies. He is a fellow of IEEE and ACM and also an Intel Distinguished Research Fellow.
