He is currently the First Deputy Mayor for Economy, Work, Competitiveness and Tax with Barcelona City Council. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Mayor for Business, Culture and Innovation, and the Vice Chair for Social and Economic Development with the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona. He was also a member of Catalonia’s Parliament. He also held managing roles at national level with the UGT, and was a member of the Economic and Social Council of Spain. He is a lawyer by profession, a degree that he studied at the UB. He has been the First Deputy Mayor of Barcelona City Council since 2019.
