Barcelona is a global benchmark for the entrepreneurship, science and innovation ecosystem, sectors that constitute the cornerstone of the city’s economic development. This session deals with the importance of science and innovation and their role as core elements of an economic development model that is based on knowledge, the generation of projects with a strong scientific-technical component, the involvement of the industrial and economic fabric in the large-scale technological transformations of the coming decades, the promotion of the R&D&I ecosystem and knowledge transfer with the business sector.
In particular, this session will seek to deal with key aspects, such as the city's connection with knowledge and innovation networks at a global level, the importance of large-scale projects and a presentation of some of Barcelona's most emblematic projects in the city's commitment to science as a factor in social and economic progress.
