Image gallery :
The inauguration of the temporary exhibition room of the Frederic Marès Museum was held with an exhibit on the most important Catalan neoclassical sculptor, Damià Campeny. Marès collected his work, and also wrote and published a study about him.
A triumph table by Campeny is on display. It was done in Rome 1803, and now belongs to the Galleria Nazionale di Parma (Italy). It is an assembly of a hundred pieces, never before seen outside Italy.
A triumph table is a composition effected with architectural, sculptural and decorative elements executed in diverse material (alabaster, porphyry, bronze) that was placed in the centre of a table to embellish it for ceremonial meals or banquets.
