Barcelona consolidates its position as a leading city in training executives. The IESE Business School was ranked the third best business school in Europe according to the Financial Times, after climbing three places in the ranking compared to last year. The school leapfrogged institutions such as the ESCP Business School (France), SDA Bocconi (Italy) and the University of St Gallen (Switzerland). In addition, the school’s MBA was recognised at the second best in Europe.

Another centre to climb the new list was the Esade Business School, leaping from seventeenth to twelfth place. For its part, the EADA Business School remains on the list, on this occasion in thirtieth position. The list includes ninety European business schools.

The most complete classification from the Financial Times

The ranking is the result of the average of more specific classifications published by the Financial Times, such as the ranking of the best MBAs or the best executive education programmes. IESE, for instance, this year came out in the second spot in Europe for MBAs, seventh for EMBAs, twelfth in business management and top in executive education programmes. For its part, ESADE ranked as having the tenth best MBA in Europe and took the third spot in executive education programmes.

The final ranking was headed by HEC Paris and the London Business School, which have led the field for a number of editions. The top 10 also includes another Spanish centre, the IE Business School, based in Madrid. The institution climbed two places from last year, from tenth to eighth.
