Guided tour at the Fundació Joan Miró
The Fundació Joan Miró was created by the artist himself and initially constituted with mainly his own private collection, the goal been to establish in Barcelona a leading international space for his work and approach, driving research and studies about Miró and about contemporary art to highlight his collection. The Fundació opened to the public on 10 June 1975, and since then has become a dynamic space where Joan Miró’s work coexists with more contemporary artistic creation.
The Fundació is housed in a building designed by Josep Lluís Sert and is one of the few examples of museums in the world where the artist and the architect establish a dialogue between the artwork and the rooms where it is displayed. The Fundació enables visitors to follow a route around the landscapes of Joan Miro’s life and art, establishing an enriching dialogue with other artists from the 20th and 21st century.
In this guided tour you will discover the architecture of the Fundació and the new presentation of the Joan Miró collection.
After the tour you will be able to enjoy a glass of cava outside in the Pati del Garrofer, to share the experience with the rest of the group while you enjoy some spectacular views of the city.
