Vehicles and staff from cleaning services and Parks and Gardens head for Valencia
A new convoy of municipal resources set off for Valencia at 8.30 am on Sunday morning. The operation included eight vehicles from cleaning services and Parks and Gardens, along with sixteen specialists, on top of the seventy municipal workers already working in the affected areas. The convoy was made up of four dustcarts, three vehicles for moving heavy objects and an excavator. The convoy also took twenty chainsaws and was accompanied as far as Valencia by four vehicles from Barcelona City Police.A team of 32 firefighters from the Barcelona Fire Service are already working on the ground with ten support vehicles to lift large volumes, clear obstacles, help reinforce structures and pump out water. In addition, 27 City Police officers are also working in the area, along with 12 social support professionals from the CUESB who are providing initial psychological support for individuals and groups sessions for communities.
The support teams from Barcelona are being coordinated through the government delegation in Catalonia and the National Centre for Monitoring and Coordinating Emergencies (CENEM), which determines the services required.
