Commission to work on simplifying regulations and administrative procedures

The first meeting highlighted the goal of improving public services and support for members of the public through a revision of redundant or unnecessary procedures. The aim is to achieve greater legal security, transparency and clearness of information.

The commission noted that between 10% and 15% of regulations and dispositions created by Barcelona since the 1950s are now obsolete but have not been formally annulled. This process will come with a unification of regulations to reduce their density and improve the process of consulting the Barcelona Legal Portal.

More accessible procedures and easier economic activities

Work will also be done to simplify procedures, such as subsidies and citizen support, with an improvement plan for the Virtual Procedures Office, Citizen Help and Information Offices and the freephone 010 number.

The commission will also study how to facilitate entrepreneurial initiative, not just through the Business Support Office, but also by updating Barcelona Activa’s websites and the launch of the Barcelona Welcome Desk.
