Training to drive new areas for economic promotion
In an effort to foster the creation of new areas for urban economic promotion (APEU), a series of training activities have been launched for shopkeepers, associations and other organisations to discover the advantages of the APEU and put forward proposals, express opinions and queries about the project.A series of free training courses and support and analysis measures relating to the APEU have been launched in collaboration with Esade Creapolis. APEU spaces adopt a model of governance which allows for the self-management of commercial and shopping areas. The training is divided into two blocks:
“What is an APEU and how can it be useful for commerce?”
These 90-minute webinars provide participants with enough information to assess the possibility of setting up an APEU in their area to help promote and reactivate Barcelona’s commercial and hospitality fabric, as well as to revitalise and strengthen cohesion in the city’s neighbourhoods. The sessions are on different days: 28 March, 4 and 25 April, and 2, 9, 16, 25 and 30 May, from 2.30 pm to 4 pm, to enable professionals in this sector to attend.
“The keys to setting up an APEU”
This course consists of three blocks of four hours, taking an in-depth look at the strategy for leadership, planning, financial feasibility and legal aspects of APEUs. Three editions of the course are planned, with the first on 2, 9 and 16 May, the second on 10, 17 and 24 May, and the third on 11, 18 and 25 May.
At the same time, shopping hubs with an interest in setting up an APEU will have access to advice and support with the goal of analysing the feasibility of the areas in a specific part of Barcelona. Similarly, there will also be the option of a strategic qualitative and quantitative analysis, plus a feasibility report in any cases where the intention is to set up an APEU in the city.
