Therefore, from Wednesday 1 September, the metro system will be increasing its week-day services. During the morning rush hour, on conventional and automatic lines, there will be 164 trains in operation, and there will be an extra train on Line 4. During the afternoon rush hour, TMB will maintain the same service as in September 2020, with 149 trains in circulation.
Meanwhile, starting on 13 September, the first day of the 2021-2022 school year, there will be more trains (two in total) on the L1 and L5 lines during the morning rush hour (from 6 am to 10 am). Therefore, on automatic and conventional lines, 168 trains will be scheduled for the morning rush hour and 151 for the afternoon rush hour.
In regard to TMB’s bus network, from 13 September there will be around 900 vehicles in circulation during the morning rush hour, the same as in 2020.
Normal service resumes on the L4 service to Trinitat Nova
Also from 1 September, normal service has resumed on the Via Júlia – Trinitat Nova section of the L4 metro line, which had been closed for construction work since 1 July. Remember that the whole of the L11 metro line (Trinitat Nova – Can Cuiàs) will remain closed until 12 September.
The construction work will make it possible to separate the operations of the L4 and the L11, which also provides services to the municipality of Montcada i Reixac, as well as optimising train movements. The aim is to increase train frequency on the L4 during rush hour, as well as permitting automatic trains on the entire L11 route. The entire project is scheduled for completion next autumn.
