Work on the stadium began in June, at the end of the sports season, and after the grandstand’s demolition had been brought forward in December 2022. The last few months have seen the work concentrating on the grandstand’s total demolition, when activity moved to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.

The Spotify Camp Nou’s main remodelling permit includes changes worked on jointly by municipal experts and FC Barcelona following the amendments to the initial project proposed by the club itself. It is therefore incorporating new improvements in terms of sustainability, innovation, technology and accessibility, among other things.

To minimise the impact of the work on local residents, the City Council has promised residents associations from the stadium’s surrounding area to convene a monthly work board, where the club will be asked for advance information on any possible disruptions.
