The most notable works under way or set to start in the summer include the second stage to cover the Ronda de Dalt in Horta-Guinardó, between Av. Vallcarca and the Institut Vall d’Hebron, the remodelling of La Rambla, Via Laietana and Ronda Sant Antoni. Similarly, work continues in Av. Diagonal, linked to the first stage to connect the tram systems there, and at the Parc de les Glòries.

The coming months will also see work speed up on upgrading road surfaces, with eight large projects entailing the renewal of nearly 100,000 square metres of asphalt. This work forms part of the Pla Endreça.

Various street-calming measures are also planned in the districts, with pavements widened and the introduction of curbless paving.

Infrastructures and services

The extension of the FGC railway line 8 continues with the construction of the emergency shaft in C/ Consell de Cent and the service crossings in the Plaça d’Espanya area.

On the metro network, work will be carried out on lines 2, 4, 5 and 10 Nord, meaning some service closures between the stations of Sagrada Família and Paral·lel, Collblanc and Cornellà Centre, Selva de Mar and La Pau and Gorg and La Salut, respectively.

As for improvements to utility services, repairs are planned for the networks carrying safe water, natural gas and power lines, such as the final stage of the construction of the new drainage sump in C/ Vila i Vilà.

Seven other projects will be carried out to expand the groundwater network and make it more resilient.
