Six hundred thousand euros in subsidies to help Morocco and Libya
September was a particularly hard month for the most vulnerable populations in Morocco and Libya, with natural catastrophes affecting nearly a million and a half people in these two countries. Given the crisis situation, the City Council has earmarked 600,000 euros in subsidies for humanitarian aid projects. All organisations specialising in humanitarian aid and previously accredited by the City Council can put forward projects via the municipal procedures website, up until 17 October.
Consideration will be given to projects aimed at populations which have been victims of catastrophes, particularly the most vulnerable, owing to gender, age, origin and/or functional diversity. Projects must be carried out in areas affected by the earthquake in Morocco or by the floods in Libya, and must start in 2023, as from 8 September. Projects may be linked to rescue work, protection and support for victims and re-establishing the physical, psycho-social, educational or economic conditions for their lives.
Each project may be able to get up to a maximum of 100,000 euros, not to exceed 80% of the overall cost.
