The process for pre-enrolment for the 2024-2025 school year is online through Barcelona City Council’s procedures website. As an exception, families who are unable to submit applications online can do so in person by booking an appointment with their first-choice nursery school. Appointments can be made by phone or by email with the selected nursery school up to 16 May.

The calendar for the pre-enrolment process for the 2024-2025 school year is:

• Application period:
  from 3 to 16 May 2024, inclusive.
• Publication of the provisional list of pre-enrolment applications:
  Friday 24 May 2024.
• Appeals period:
  from 27 to 31 May 2024, inclusive.
• Publication of the final list of pre-enrolment applications:
  Tuesday 4 June 2024.
• Draw for the cut-off number: Wednesday 5 June 2024, at 11.30 am, in the function room at the Barcelona Municipal Institute of Education (Plaça d’Espanya, 5).
• Publication of the list of infants admitted or on the waiting list:
  Thursday 13 June 2024.
• Enrolment period:
  from 14 to 21 June, inclusive. In this case, the management team at each nursery school will call families directly to arrange an appointment.

Applications submitted after the application period will be accepted, but indicating that they were submitted outside the allotted time. These applications will have to be submitted by appointment at the first-choice nursery school.

The Municipal Institute of Education is the body of Barcelona City Council which manages the city’s 105 municipal nursery schools.
