New projects to improve coexistence in the neighbourhoods in “La ciutat proactiva”
The fourth urban innovation subsidy call “La ciutat proactive” is open until 22 June. The programme is designed to provide technical and financial support to implement projects between 30,000 and 100,000 euros conceived to improve coexistence in public, collective and shared spaces in the city.Through BIT Habitat, and in collaboration with districts and citizens, this fourth edition of the programme looks to address challenges of particular relevance in the neighbourhoods and guarantee social cohesion in a dense city with a diversity of uses.
The call is looking for initiatives which, for instance, reduce excessive noise or uncivil behaviour in public space, or offer urban regeneration initiatives to favour coexistence in communal private spaces but have a key role in people’s quality of life.
The call has an overall budget of 480,000 euros, which will be used to fund up to 80% of the cost of projects between 30,000 and 100,000 euros. Projects must include the implementation of the winning solutions in a real environment in Barcelona to be able to validate, through demonstrable activities or pilot projects, the initial goals of the project and the attaining of the desired impact.
