New spaces for interring ashes in the cemeteries of Montjuïc and Sant Andreu
The additional capacity responds to the growth in demand for cremation services and facilitates collection and comfort for visitors. The aim is to do the same at the rest of the city’s cemeteries.
The new interment spaces for ashes include two spaces of 2,500 and 600 square metres in Montjuïc, and one of 1,550 square metres in Sant Andreu.
The work includes adding more vegetation, creating areas where visitors can spend time, adding pergolas to create shade, restricting access to motor vehicles and more.
Families wishing to inter ashes can choose different options, such as columbariums or tombs for ashes.
