Gold medal for civic merit to the Federation of Andalusian Cultural Organisations in Catalonia
The gold medal for civic merit for the Federation of Andalusian Cultural Organisations in Catalonia (FECAC) recognises its work to promote Andalusian traditions and culture, and last year’s 50th anniversary of the Feria de Abril de Catalunya and the 50th Romería del Rocío de Catalunya. The poster for this year’s edition was presented during the ceremony, inspired by the Casa Batlló and created by the photographer María del Carmen Longobardo Vela.The Federation of Andalusian Cultural Organisations in Catalonia (FECAC) was created in 1982 to bring together the different Andalusian cultural entities and help protect and promote the cultural activities they organise. The federation also works to foster the promotion of Andalusian traditions and culture and helps to enrich the coexistence between Andalusian and Catalan communities.
The federation includes over a hundred cultural organisations from all over Catalonia, which carry out numerous recreational and cultural activities throughout the year, such as exhibitions, lectures, theatre, poetry, dance, festivals etc.
Presentation of the poster for the 51st Feria de Abril de Catalunya
The ceremony included a presentation of the poster for the next edition of the Feria de Abril de Catalunya, to be held in the Parc del Fòrum from 26 April to 5 May. The fair is one of the most notable events organised by the foundation.
Inspired by the Casa Batlló, the poster features a flamenco dancer with a hairpiece made with a cross of four prongs pointing at the cardinal points, created by the Barcelona photographer of Cádiz origin María del Carmen Longobardo Vela
