Green light for the new City Police station in Sarrià - Sant Gervasi
The Government Commission gave its approval on Thursday, 21 March, to the construction of the premises to house the new territorial City Police unit for the district, with an investment of 19.9 million euros. The new premises, which should come into service at the end of 2026, will have over 4,800 square metres of floor space across six floors. The police station is currently housed in the Can Ponsic property at Av. J. V. Foix, 55, in the neighbourhood of Sarrià, and shares the premises with the Can Ponsic municipal music school. The Barcelona police corps occupies 1,239 square metres of the building, across two floors.
The new territorial unit will be built at number 103-109 in the same avenue, next to the Ronda de Dalt and the Can Caralleu roundabout. The new premises will have an overall floor space of nearly 5,000 square metres. Of this, some 4,000 square metres will be distributed across six floors (two basement floors), to provide enough space for the 140 officers currently serving the district and the new intakes expected.
The City Police has ten territorial units, one per district, plus two joint police stations with the Mossos d’Esquadra corps and an information and procedures office. You can check the locations and contact details here.
