Intercultural perspective in municipal tendering processes
Fourteen municipal tendering processes have now included the special clause favouring contracts for people of diverse origins. The measure was first promoted nearly a year ago and is part of the Barcelona Interculturality Plan, which aims to reflect the city’s plurality within the City Council.Nearly two years after its approval, 76.2% of the government measure on interculturality has now been executed.
Other actions in the rollout of the measure include:
- Launch of the inter-departmental commission for interculturality
- Own interculturality plan for four districts: Ciutat Vella, Sants-Montjuic, Horta-Guinardó and L’Eixample.
- Intercultural perspective for all subsidies.
- New action plan for the BCN Antirumours Network, 2022-2026.
- Collaboration with European projects, with training for municipal human resources, on aspects which define discrimination on the grounds of race, ethnicity and religion of young people, and discrimination against the Roma people.
- Specific technical service to favour diversity within the City Council itself.
- Communication guide with the intercultural perspective.
