Gale alert deactivated
Given the improvement in weather conditions and the drop in the number of callouts by the Barcelona Fire Service in connection with gales in the city, the alert stage of the basic municipal emergency plan for gales, activated on 7 December, has been deactivated.

The Barcelona Fire Service intervened in 147 gale-related incidents between 6 pm on Saturday, 7 December, and 8 am on Monday, 9 December, mainly in relation to fallen branches, trees, awnings and urban furniture. Cleaning services gave priority to the collection of fallen branches and the cleaning of drain scuppers.
The city’s parks will gradually be opened up today after checks have been made.
