Gale alert deactivated
Given the improvement in weather conditions and the drop in the number of callouts by the Barcelona Fire Service in connection with gales in the city, the alert stage of the basic municipal emergency plan for gales, activated on 20 November, was deactivated at 8 am.
Between 8 am on 20 November and 8 am 21 November, the Barcelona Fire Service handled 248 alerts and intervened in 92 gale-related incidents, mainly in relation to fallen branches, trees, awnings and urban furniture.
Cleaning services gave priority to the collection of fallen branches and the cleaning of drain scuppers.
