Gale and rough seas alert lifted
Due to the improved weather conditions in the city and fewer wind-related incidents requiring the services of the Barcelona Fire Service, the gale alert activated yesterday as part of the City Council's emergency plan has been lifted. The emergency plan’s rough seas alert is still in effect. From 2:10 pm to 7:30 pm, the Barcelona Fire Service responded to 99 incidents caused by the gale, primarily fallen branches, trees, awnings and street fixtures.
Meanwhile, the council’s cleaning services prioritised clearing away branches and tree trunks that had fallen as a result of the winds, as well as cleaning gutters.
